The 2017-2018 school year will be the start of my sixth year at Cecil Floyd and my 12th year in education. Choosing education as a career choice is my second career. After spending four years on active duty in the Army I got out, started working in the business world as an administrative assistant while working my way through college and eventually rejoining the military part time. During college I spent some time working with other students in a peer education program and tutoring. It was during this time I began my path towards education. While in college I was living in upstate New York and after finishing my masters degree I landed my first teaching job in the Syracuse area. I lived there for five more years until July of 2011 when I decided to move back to Missouri to be nearer my family. I retired from part time service with the Air National Guard in 2013 and now spend that extra weekend time furthering my own education, working on special programs at school, gardening and cooking, and some extra time with my family.
